Georgian-Russian conflict to be Ukrainian Parliament’s major point of discussion

The Georgian-Russian conflict was the main issue discussed by the Ukrainian Rada at its first autumn session, which began on September 2. The Rada also discussed Russia’s recognition of the breakaway regions.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko did not attend the opening of the session, but in support of Georgia he has declared that he expects the Parliamentarians to take a unanimous position on the conflict and associated issues.
